Mountain Deli is committed to serving our downtown friends and visitors the most delicious, best quality sandwiches we can provide. Our entire menu features only fresh, natural ingredients from the very best farmers and producers, and is available for dine-in, take-out, delivery or lunch on the patio.
There are absolutely no artificial ingredients, additives or chemicals used in any recipes. We emphasize domestic and especially local grown, seasonally fresh ingredients. No items or ingredients will ever come from China, Thailand or other country of origin where we cannot guarantee the wholesomeness, quality, or fair labor production.

We are big fans of sustainable farming and fishing practices, preferring to serve non-GMO, heritage products. Most items are made from scratch here in the Deli; meats are minimally processed or cooked from raw; soups, salads & sauces are made daily. Your sandwich is always custom made to order for the freshest possible experience.

Our Founders:
The wholesomeness and safety of your food is an important responsibility we take seriously, that’s why our entire staff is Serve Safe trained and certified. And we re-train yearly to keep sharp. The Deli is also a member of both the North Carolina and National Restaurant Associations keeping us up to date on current food safety trends and solutions.
Our Founders:
David and Carolyn Rutecki started coming to Hendersonville from Florida years ago for vacation time in the mountains. “We had always loved the area and the great activities the mountains provide. Downtown Hendersonville was always our favorite place to spend time.”
In 2009 they moved to Hendersonville permanently and set up Mountain Deli on Main Street. “We’re lucky to be able to work in such a great community with wonderful people to serve and a great staff to work with.”
Dave is also a professional restaurant consultant and offers litigation support and expert witness for the hospitality industry.
Catering
Mountain Deli caters for numerous events and functions throughout the year. We have vast experience with all types of functions and are always available to speak with you about your needs.
We typically provide trays and platters of sandwiches, salads, sliced meats and bagels but don’t hesitate to ask about other items. We can provide food service for any number of people and delivery is available for sizeable orders and with advance notice.
